General Robert Magnus

Advisory Council

General Robert Magnus, also known as Bob, is an Advisory Council member at Sterling.  He served in the USMC (Retired) and served as an Assistant Commandant of United States Marine Corps from 2005 to 2008. General Magnus retired from the United States Marine Corps in July 17, 2008 after 38 years of distinguished service.

General Magnus served as a Commander of Air Bases Western Area and Deputy Commander of Marine Forces Pacific of Marine Corps.  He also served as the Chief of Logistics Readiness Center, Executive Assistant to the Director, Head of Aviation Plans & Programs Branch, Deputy Chief of Staff of Aviation, Assistant Deputy Commandant of Plans, Policies and Operations and Deputy Commandant of Programs and Resources of Joint Staff.

His personal decorations included the Distinguished Service Medal, Defense Superior Service Medal, Legion of Merit and Navy Achievement Medal.

General Magnus's formal military education included Naval Aviator Training, U.S. Marine Corps Command and Staff College and the National War College.
