Douglas L. Newhouse

Co-Founder & Managing Partner

Doug is a Managing Partner and a Co-Founder of Sterling Investment Partners. He is involved in all aspects of the firm's investment activities, including sourcing opportunities, negotiating and structuring transactions, and working with management teams after Sterling's initial investment.  Doug serves on the Board of Directors of All My Sons Moving and Storage, American West Restaurant Group and Belnick LLC.

Doug is a former board member of Miller Heiman, Cambridge International, Inc., Aavid Thermal Technologies, Inc. and American Buildings Company, Excelligence Learning Corporation, The Kenan Advantage Group, Inc., Washington Inventory Service, The CBORD Group, Inc. and GPX International Tire Corp.

Prior Experience

Prior to co-founding Sterling, Doug was a Senior Vice President in the Corporate Finance Department of Lehman Brothers.  Prior to that, he was a Vice President of the Matuschka Group based in Munich, West Germany.  Doug began his career on Wall Street as an oil service industry Research Analyst at Mitchell Hutchins, Inc.

Personal

Doug chairs the Investment Committee for the Board of Directors at Greens Farm Academy in Westport, Connecticut, and is also a member of the board of directors of the Pequot Library in Southport, Connecticut.  Doug also serves on the board of the Undergraduate Business Advisory Council at Cornell University.
